Jet Lag and WiFi Promises Unkept

Hi all,
A quick placeholder post, this is. Already my own promises re: blogging regularly are feeling more empty than fulfilled, much to my chagrin. We got pretty much zero sleep on the plane, had a train trip from Berlin to Dresden that might be characterized - at least the first part of it - as wild and wooly; point is, jet, lag has, well, lagged for a longer period than I recall it doing in the past. This compounded with glitchy wifi here at Hotel Kipping in Dresden and permission to connect - when it works - for only two hours at a shot, has resulted in our just sort of hanging on to what little energy we have while accomplishing as much on our wish list as possible. I will write more and hopefully post pictures in a day or two.
For now, suffice it to say that we are here, in one piece (both of us, so I suppose that's technically two pieces), and gettiing into the groove of European travel. I have to remind myself that it always takes a day or two to find our stride. We're getting there.
We've really enjoyed Dresden and are Prague-bound in the morning. As I write, it's 1:15 am, and this probably isn't doing much to help us catch up to German time, so it's lights out for us.
Thoughts to which I will return in a few days (at which time they'll make more sense, really) -
*Hypervigilance, overpacking (or not) and the Plane Clothes Police
*Arriving in Morocco without a plan is risky business
*The Big Lebowski lives, though we regret to have not seen this firsthand
Hope the dog days of summer are treating you all well.

Trial run - hoping I've conquered Blogger.2

Welcome!

Surveying the absolute chaos all around as we prepare to embark on Sunday for our next adventure, I'm much more drawn to setting up our second blog than to packing.  This has - predictably - not been as straightforward a task as I'd originally hoped, but it looks like I've finally outsmarted the somewhat obtuse iPad format and am now off and running.  Some of you may recall that I'd attempted a blog during our last journey to Switzerland and France in 2010, and I'd done reasonably well until about 5 days before the end.  Trip exhaustion and the desire to cram in every bit of fun we could before it was all over finally overrode my desire to document our days through photos and words (as much for ourselves, honestly, as for the fun of sharing it with our friends and family).

So here I am, cranking out this first post as a way of committing myself to this second blog.  I'm writing this post on the laptop, which has proved much less strenuous than navigating everything on the iPad, but armed with a keyboard case I'm hoping I'll be able to keep up.

Here's an overview of where our travels will take us:

Dresden
Prague
Munich
Bavaria (Oberammergau, Garmisch, Mittenwald, Reutte, and wherever else our rental car takes us)
Neuschwanstein/Hohenschwangau castles
Rothenburg ob der Tauber
Berlin

We're expecting another great couple of weeks of new experiences and photo-ops like this one from our trip to the top of Europe (the Jungfraujoch) in Switzerland, August 2010:

Stay tuned!
